I am a native of Smithfield, Virginia and have been a musician for as long as I can remember.  Growing up in a family deeply rooted in music, my brother and I performed in our family’s bluegrass band, The Darden Family.   My musical experience has been diverse and rich.  From performing country duets with my brother to playing folk songs in coffeehouses during the 1960’s and joining my brother in the rock band, Black River Circus, performing at naval bases and even in Cuba for military troops in the 1970’s.  My personal life has been a poignant mix of joy and sorrow.  I married the bass player of the band and tragically he died unexpectedly in 1982.  This event marked a turning point when the Lord began inspiring me to write songs.  My songs are deeply personal and reflective, mirroring my spiritual journey and commitment to sharing God’s message of love.
